First Night With Your Husky Puppy

The first night is the hardest ? for both you and your puppy. They're in a new environment without their littermates.

Setup

  • Crate next to your bed
  • Soft blanket from breeder (has littermate scent)
  • Heartbeat toy for comfort
  • Water nearby but not inside crate

Expect Crying

Your puppy WILL cry. This is normal. Options:

  • Place your hand near the crate so they can smell you
  • Ignore crying (hard but effective) ? they'll settle in 15-30 minutes
  • Take outside for a potty break if it's been 2+ hours

First Night Schedule

  • 10 PM ? Last potty break, into crate
  • 2 AM ? Potty break (set alarm for puppies under 12 weeks)
  • 6 AM ? Morning potty break and breakfast

By night 3-4, most puppies settle significantly.
